The El Salugral Spa dates back to 1888 and is located in an estate with a total area of some 70,000 square metres right in the middle of the Ambroz Valley. The Estate runs alongside the river which gives its name to the valley. This unique and invaluable naturally rural corner of Extremadura contains a wide variety of singular tree species, gardens, ponds and a great diversity of birds - all in all it is an ideal place in which to rest in a totally natural setting.
Extremadura’s first Thermal Resort has been built without causing any damage whatsoever to this highly privileged environment. It includes one of the country’s most modern and best equipped Spas and careful refurbishment has converted the old inn into an hotel. The original chapel and the new Spa building serve to put the finishing touches to the Resort.
The Spa’s waters are sulphurous, sodium bicarbonate and chloride bicarbonate. Its therapeutic benefits are particularly recommended for arthrosis, the locomotor apparatus, the respiratory apparatus (pharyngitis, dry smoker’s bronchitis etc.), the digestive apparatus and for its beautifying effect on skin.
