  • The Azuaga bullring owes its existence to the construction of the railway line between Peñarroya and Fuente del Arco.

Azuaga's current bullring, excavated from a promontory in 1892, replaced the original wooden one which used to exist in the "fundición" or foundry area. It was inaugurated in 1894, almost at the same time as work on the railway which would connect the best bullrings of the surrounding area.

There are different theories about its origins, although the most plausible one appears to be that it was raised on top of a Roman circus, based on the shape of the arena.

Azuaga Bullring has been recognised as an Asset of Cultural Interest.
