The Badajoz convention centre, called the Manuel Rojas Convention Centre, is an architectural jewel. So much so that MOMA considered it one of the most representative modern buildings in Spain. It was planned as a work of art, where avant-garde and historic heritage have come together to give life to this metal and methacrylate construction, of which the old city wall is not only part, but is one of the walls of the room called the blue room.
Due to its size, it can house endless events of all kinds. Furthermore, its main auditorium with almost 900 seats designed by Monica Foster, with individual air-conditioning, won the prize for best design at the International Design Fair in Stockholm in 2005.
So if you have to organise an event in the city of Badajoz, remember this convention centre - it may be the best solution for your requirements. And if you are only visiting the city, it is worth taking the time to see this marvellous piece of architecture.
