  • Built alongside a Roman bridge, the town's most famous landmark, Berlanga is located in the southeast of Badajoz province.

Berlanga has managed to retain virtually all of its original urban layout intact, which is in the traditional style of the area. Step back in time by strolling through the winding narrow streets which, together with the small plazas and hidden corners, make up the town's old quarter, where you will also find many typical farm-style houses.

The most important building in the town is the church of Nuestra Señora de Gracia, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, a unique example of Baroque art. While exploring the town's religious buildings, be sure to visit Santo Domingo chapel and the Casa de la Encomienda, which pertained to the Order of Santiago.

The town's crown jewel is undoubtedly the ancient Roman bridge, which was remodelled in medieval times and is still in use today.

For nature lovers and those who enjoy mountain sports, Berlanga is located right next to Las Quinientas Nature Reserve, where you can see animals living in semi-wild conditions and it also has a recreational area alongside a man-made lake.
