The chestnut trees of Fuente de las Escobanchas belong to the castanea sativa species and are located in the Sierra de San Bernabé, in the municipality of Casas del Castañar, province of Cáceres. They are two of the largest chestnut trees in Extremadura and are uncommon to say the least in terms of their shape, which is reminiscent of a large hand. The circumference of their trunks is more than 7 metres and they are over one hundred years old. Enjoy a walk along the route that leads to them which is suitable for the whole family.
