El Festivalino used to boast to be the smallest festival in the world but this label is increasingly outdated. Every April, the town of Pescueza organizes an event that combines music, culture and environmental activism, and which, thanks to the quality of artist and the programmed activities, has made itself a name in the festival Spanish scene.
Concerts in the many squares of Pescueza, theatre, workshops on local traditions, activities for children, lectures, crafts market, batucada, environmental awareness-raising activities, such as tree planting, and free camping area are the main attractions of a festival that has celebrated and championed the rural world since 2008.
Every year, El Festivalino attracts some 15,000 visitors to Pescueza. Some of the artists and groups that have performed in this tiny village (of fewer than 200 residents) in the Alagón Valley include La Oreja de Van Gogh, Revólver, Celtas Cortos, Los Niños de los Ojos Rojos, Los Secretos, Soraya Arnelas, Acetre, Huecco, Sínkope, Manuel Carrasco and Rozalén.
One of its trademarks is the focus on the preservation of nature. Musicians, locals and festival-goers alike participate in planting native trees and bushes in an estate next to the village, among other ecological activities.
