Also known as Puerto Peña, this reservoir is a real draw for fishermen. It is home, among others, to pike, black-bass, barbel, carp and bream. The reservoir is also perfect for canoeing, motor boats, sailing and swimming in summer.

With its beautiful landscape, consisting of dense pine and eucalyptus woods and large rock formations, it is a very valuable home for wildlife. Don't miss the opportunity to see the natural habitat of Griffon vultures, black vultures, black storks, golden eagles, Bonelli's eagles, booted eagles, peregrine falcons, goshawks and kestrels.

The García de Sola reservoir was built in 1962 as part of the Badajoz Plan to store water for irrigation, with a hydroelectric power station at the foot of the dam.
