The cedar tree of Gata belongs to the cedrus atlantica species, and is located in the village of Gata, in the province of Cáceres, on the side of the street that crosses the town. Without a doubt this is one of the best-known trees in the region, standing 30 metres tall with a trunk circumference of nearly 5 metres. It is over 200 years old. In Gata you can also find other endangered tree species, like the English oak, the European holly or the whitebeam.
