The Parish Church of San Miguel, classified as a monument of Historic and Artistic Interest, in Tejeda de Tiétar, is a masonry and dressed granite construction built over a primitive 14th century temple. In some areas of the church, remnants of the old temple are easily visible.

Important features of the exterior are the robust walls and pointed arches which support the coffering and a rose window with a five-pointed star. An important feature of the south façade is the votive tablet, of Roman origin, known as "la muerte pelona."

The interior of the temple has a Plateresque style altarpiece, one of the finest in this style in Extremadura; a sculptured polychrome coat of arms in the central nave. Other features are the oil-painted tablets in the side aisles and ceramic tiles decorating the altar table.
