Afternoon: 4:30pm, 5:30pm and 6:30 pm.

The Catholic Monarchs stayed at the Golfines de Abajo Renaissance Palace of the Golfin family when they visited the city.
Situated in the city of Cáceres, the Golfines de Abajo Palace was built by the members of the Golfin family that settled in this city after the Reconquest. As you will see, this building displays two very different styles – on one hand it is a 15th century house-fortress, and on the other, a typically humanist building from the 16th century.
On the former, the tower with machicolations on two of the sides and segmental arches stands out; and on the latter there is a Plateresque cresting with fantastic animals crowning the façade. Inside you can find the "Salón de los Linajes" (lineage room), which is rectangular with polychrome coffering. The Catholic Monarchs came to the city of Cáceres twice, and both times they stayed at this palace. -
