An annual event that takes you round all the natural corners in the district of Ambroz Valley, in the province of Cáceres.
This hiking route which takes place every year starts in the highest town in the Ambroz Valley: La Garganta. After the first climb, there is a long descent through the typical chestnut forests down to the entrance to Hervás, over the Fuente Chiquita bridge. From there you head to Gargantilla, crossing Puente del Monte bridge, and you enter Castañar Gallego, and later on, Castañar del Duque, and you get to the top of Gargantilla.
After getting your strength back, you cover the last stretch amongst cherry trees and plum trees, towards Segura de Toro, where you'll find the silhouette of the tower and the remains of its imposing Templar castle. To finish the route, you have to cross the bridge, next to the natural pool, and head towards the square, where you can celebrate you have finished with chocolate and "churros". It is an enjoyable day that combines nature and history.
