Orellana Beach

Inside the town boundaries of Orellana la Vieja you can find the first inland beach in Spain that has been awarded the Blue Flag thanks to its accessibility, water quality, and environmental information for visitors. So pack your bags – it's time to go to the beach!

Orellana Beach, also known as Costa Dulce Beach, is ideal for water sports such as windsurfing, sailing and canoeing. Orellana is also considered to be one of the best reservoirs for fishing. The children will love to see the people fishing with rods. And they may even have a chance to try their luck.

After practising water sports, or just bathing in the water, the best thing is to get your strength back. Because, as you know, water can make you hungry... There are many picnic areas on the banks of the Orellana reservoir so you can enjoy a pleasant meal with the family next to the “sea”.

Just before sunset it is a good idea to take a walk nearby, amongst eucalyptuses, and go birdwatching, because the reservoir is situated in a SPA (Special Protection Area for birds). The children will love this unique experience in the heart of nature.
