A small town in Guareña

Location and Contact:

  • Its traditional architecture displays the typical characteristics of the so-called colonisation towns.

Torrefresneda depended fully on Guareña for a long time. Nevertheless, at present, it only depends on it administratively, a fact which has afforded it greater independence. A stroll around the town is the best way to appreciate its peculiar architecture, which abounds in regular shaped, white-washed, low houses that are typical to such colonisation towns.

Moreover, given its natural surroundings, Torrefresneda is an ideal place to schedule free-time and leisure activities. Make the most of its location, given that the Guadiana, Búrdalo and Guadámez rivers run through it, as do Guareña streams such as Cristina, Arroyo de San Juan y Margarita, offer visitors endless possibilities. To the south you have a hilly area that contrasts with the flat and fertile lands of the north, not to mention the Oliva and La Zarza mountains.

Or if you prefer, why not visit the town and join in with the locals as they celebrate its patron's fiestas, which are held every October in honour of Nuestra Señora de Fátima.
