Location and Contact:

  • Aldeanueva del Camino lies in the Valle de Ambroz in the heart of the Silver Way in the north of the province of Cáceres.

The Romans set up camp there on the Silver Way, leaving numerous traces in Aldeanueva of their stay: such as bridges, stones and inscriptions. Remains that can still be seen today.

There are two churches among the architectural charms of the town: the parish church in the upper part of the town, dedicated to Nuestra Señora del Olmo and the one in the lower part called San Servando. They are both from a similar style and age, dating as they do from the late 15th and early 16th centuries.

Another of the town's attractions is the "Alcornoque de la Fresneda", a cork tree officially catalogued as one of the Unique Trees of Extremadura.

A stroll around Aldeanueva will no doubt see you come across the old Roman roads, the unique bridges, the vantage points and the squares that make this beautiful town such an endearing place.

Moreover, Aldeanueva is well known for its marvellous paprika, traditionally dried by the smoke of holm oak wood.
