  • This building was founded as a hospital and converted into a convent in the 17th century. Today it houses a great art collection. as well as the image of the Cristo de Victoria.

Monastery of Cristo de la Victoria was built next to the parish church which bears the same name.

The most important features of this convent are in the interior: one of the most important religious images in the artistic heritage of Extremadura: the Cristo de la Victoria, which can be found in the altarpiece of the convent's church, it is the work of the sculptor Domingo de Rioja. It also has an important art collection of which the most important is a collection of paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries.

It was originally a hospital built as a result of the tenacity and devotion of Francisca de Oviedo, who not only managed to get it built, but also to get Domingo de la Rioja to create the sculpture of the Christ which later became the image which drew the worshippers and devotees to the church and the hospital, converted to a convent in 1655.

The nuns of the Order of Augustinian Recollects live there, but nevertheless visitors are allowed both in the convent and the church.
