On 15 May, Valencia de Alcántara puts on its best face to celebrate the patron saint of farmers on the feast of San Isidro.
One of the highpoints of this celebration is the mass said for the patron saint, which serves to bring the pilgrims together in the so-called Parque de España. The parade is another of the attractions of this festivity, which sees decorated floats and mounts pass through the streets of the town.
The joy and cheer surrounding this fiesta, which you can share with the locals of Valencia de Alcántara at a bullfight and multitudinous street concert, lasts all day and night long. -
