The sanctuary of the patron of Plasencia, Nuestra Señora del Puerto, the well-known chapel of La Virgen del Puerto, is located a few kilometres from the town centre. This sanctuary from the year 1644 is set amidst holm-oaks and scree, with impressive views of the Jerte Valley and the town. Inside it you will find a museum with possessions of the virgin.
