Santa Cruz de la Sierra is home to many archaeological remains and ancient edifications, including a marble pilaster that bears testimony to the area's Visigoth occupation. If you'd like to admire this fascinating vestige of the past, it is housed in Vera Cruz parish church, one of the most outstanding local landmarks.

The town's historical legacy also includes the church of Los Agustinos convent, of which only its ruins and some deteriorated paintings remain, and La Casa del Conde (the Count's House), which dates back to the 16th century and is linked to the colonisation of America. The rich traditions that surround Santa Cruz de la Sierra also include its patron saints' festivities, such as San Agustín, Santa Rita, La Fiesta del Cristo and its Holy Week processions.
