Without doubt the most striking characteristic of the Torrecilla de Lagartera Castle in Cáceres is its robust aspect, a legacy of its Almohad past.
This defensive stronghold dating from the 14th century stands on a rocky hilltop overlooking the northern extreme of the Salor reservoir. The Torrecilla de Lagartera Castle is located in the municipality of Torreorgaz in Cáceres, noteworthy because of its strong and robust appearance, as can be seen from its high tower, whose battlements are still complete.
At present this fortress is private property and to visit it, the exterior that is, you will need to cross private lands with a large number of cattle. -
